Backstage expands metadata services team to the Northeast

BETHLEHEM, Pa., April 21, 2015 – Compelled by strong demand from libraries and publishers for flexible, customized solutions, Backstage Library Works ( has expanded its metadata services division with a second location now operating in their preservation service center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The new branch of metadata services is working in conjunction with the center’s digitization and microfilming departments, providing libraries increased options in consulting, microfilming, digitization, capture, derivatives, OCR, metadata and full cataloging services. Metadata formats include structural, technical, administrative, preservation, descriptive and publisher metadata. Backstage also offers Eastern libraries a convenient pickup and delivery service for materials requiring special handling and allows publishers to drop-ship materials in need of shelf-ready processing.

Expert in a multitude of languages, Backstage’s metadata services team creates and manages records for diverse media, including new books, rare antique volumes, vinyl records, sheet music, electronic titles. Services include:
