~Eight $10,000 Grants to be Awarded as Part of the Most Prestigious Award of the American Library Association~

IPSWICH, Mass. — November 15, 2011 — Libraries using innovative ways to conduct public relations efforts have more opportunities to benefit. The John Cotton Dana Award (JCD) is being expanded to include eight $10,000 grants.

Learning Round Table Announces New Logo

CHICAGO, Feb. 25, 2010 – The Learning Round Table of the American Library Association unveiled a new logo on the Web site http://alalearning.org.

The new logo contains a vibrant palette of colors including purple, blue, orange and green. The abstract design has many different meanings and the public is encouraged to comment on the ALA Learning site and describe what the design represents to them.

Library Support Staff Certification Approved by ALA

The Executive Board of the American Library Association approved
the establishment of a certification program for library support staff
at its meeting last week in Chicago. The LSSC Program is the
first national, voluntary certification program for library support
staff. Funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library
Services, the program will now enter a testing phase in five library
organizations across the United States.
