100 state agencies and non-profits cooperate to serve Delawareans in need

Delaware's Governor Jack Markell praised the work of public libraries and the state's Division of Libraries in serving as a linchpin to bring together agencies that normally do not work together in the Division of Libraries' innovative Community Resources Exchange program, in which social service agencies, non-profit organizations and libraries work together to maximize their resources and reach those in need.

Free Parenting Newsletter Issued Monthly by Book Publisher Parenting Press

"News for Parents," available online at www.parentingpress/ezine.html or by e-mail subscription, is a free monthly newsletter that librarians can print out and post or compile in a notebook for their parenting/self help sections. Many of the activities can also be used for children's programs in libraries.

"Understanding Autism" is one of the lead stories in the August 2008 issue. Based on a new W.W. Norton book, "How to Talk to Parents about Autism," by Roy Q. Sanders, it describes typical symptoms for five types of autism.
