OCLC names five librarians to participate in 2014 Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship Program
OCLC, along with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), has named five librarians chosen to participate in the Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship Program for 2014.
The 2014 Jordan IFLA/OCLC Fellows were announced today by Skip Prichard, OCLC President and CEO, at a news conference during the World Library and Information Congress: 79th IFLA General Conference and Assembly in Singapore.

Equinox Software is proud to announce the signing of a new hosting and support agreement with the PaILS SPARK Consortium. Equinox will oversee the migration of SPARK’s current Evergreen installation, currently hosted by an organization within the state, to the new Equinox hosted environment. Equinox will also provide ongoing system administration, top tier technical support, and staff training services to the consortium. They are expected to go live in early September.

Over fifty attendees from 22 Academic Koha institutions participated in a review of the past year’s development successes and to map out the upcoming year’s development path.

North Bethesda, MD, August 7, 2013- Gilpin Public Library, located in Blackhawk, CO is now live in the AspenCat LibLime Koha Union Catalog for all collection and patron management services.
The Gilpin Public Library staff worked with LibLime Project Managers to migrate bibliographic, item, and patron data from their legacy ILS system to the LibLime Koha application. With the addition of Gilpin Public Library, there are now over 720,000 items and nearly 430,000 bibliographic records in the CLiC AspenCat Union Catalog.

BETHLEHEM, Pa., August 6, 2013 — In a groundbreaking pilot project with Lock Haven University, Backstage Library Works has provided the university’s archives with archival processing services, allowing researchers access to the Mary Ward Collection which spans six decades from the 1930s through the 1980s.
Dallas, TX — Amigos Library Services (Amigos) announces it has received a Library Cooperation Grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). The grant will help fund a project to develop a new e-book distribution platform. The planned service will provide e-books for library patrons, searchable through an Amigos search interface or a local library catalog. Amigos will create the platform and negotiate directly with publishers to obtain content. The grant funds will be provided from the U.S.

The Gershwind-Bennett Isaac Leeser Digital Repository features access to the personal papers and publications of Isaac Leeser, widely regarded as the foremost American Jewish leader in antebellum America. The repository is the first major collaborative effort undertaken by the Jesselson-Kaplan American Genizah Project.
