Rochester Institute of Technology partners with Kirtas Technologies to make its famed Middleton Collection available to the world

ROCHESTER, N.Y., MARCH 24, 2009 – Housed within Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) Cary Graphic Arts Collection is the Bernard C. Middleton Collection, one of the finest resources in the world for the study of bookbinding history and practice.

And as ironic as it may seem, even a collection of books about bookbinding can find a place to call home in the online world. Kirtas and RIT today announced that RIT’s famed Middleton Collection is available on Kirtasbooks.com, joining the growing number of content partners providing collections and titles to the site.

Koha Selected By Warren County Community College in New Jersey

Norcross, Ga. – Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a division of Vernon Library Supplies, Inc., has implemented ITG’s Apex XpressCheck™ patron self-service kiosks at the Salem Church branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The self-service kiosks work in conjunction with the library’s SirsiDynix Horizon integrated library system (ILS) and existing barcode labels. The new system also features ITG’s fine and fee payment system.

Jeremy Buhler, a graduate student from SLAIS at UBS, did most of the work developing the main page and migrating data. Buhler has recently begun working with British Columbia SITKA as a trainer/help desk specialist.
